Mauhar and Laura Hoer make All-State team finishing 2nd a 3rd
respectively. Sarah Hope overcomes mid-race fall to finish 11th and
Zoe Dubin is 15th.
Roberson Boys – 7th place. Much deeper boy’s race
in 2008. 2007 team finished 6th with average time of 17:59.53 and
152 points. 2008 team finishes 7th with average time of 17:38.56 and
207 points.

This is the 3rd Presidential
Election cycle that we’ve had a Poll. Both previous groups (2000 & 2004)
predicted the ultimate winner with the 2004 group picking Bush (59%) over Kerry
(41%). The actual 2004 North Carolina numbers were Bush (56%) – Kerry (44%).

City of Asheville has gone to Level 2 for Fuel Conservation. For this
reason many Parks and Recreation programs and services have been cancelled or are
on a reduced schedule to help patrons and staff conserve fuel. The
Asheville Fall Classic scheduled for Thursday, September 25 has been
cancelled. We apologize for the inconvenience. Please let me know
that you received this email.
Also
please help spread the word; I am missing several coaches from this list and do
not want a team to travel to Asheville.

Henderson County Parks and Recreation
officials are requesting we use the “main” parking area instead of the lot in
front of the Parks and Rec. building. This gives us more space for the buses
and close proximity to a picnic shelter reserved for our use. It also puts us
close to restroom facilities that will be open for our use.
(08-21-08) Directions:
From Interstate 26 – Take exit 49 (highway
64). Go towards downtown Hendersonville. At the 7th light (just over
1.5 miles from I-26), take a left (there’s a small Jackson Park sign). Go 2
blocks and take another left (again, there will be a small sign). This takes
you into the Park. See parking above. For all teams
arriving later (planning to arrive at Jackson Park after approximately 8:15 AM)
and all teams arriving from the South, please use the south entrance to Jackson
Park so you won’t get caught in traffic when the road is closed once racing
begins. Directions are as follows:
From Interstate 26 – take
exit 53 (Upward Road). Go towards Hendersonville/Flat Rock 1.4 miles. Take
right at 176 (major intersection at Super Ingles). Go 1.4 miles. Take right on
Glover Street (there are a couple of small, brown Jackson Park signs before
this turn). Go 0.7 miles into South entrance of Jackson Park (note – Glover
Street is a small, residential road).
(08-21-08) Entry Fees:
$60 per school (1 time $60 entry
covers all boys and girls, regardless of number of races entered, or number of
athletes). Make checks payable to Roberson Rams Club. You may bring your
check to the Meet. You must pay your entry fee to get your race packet.

entries as many times as necessary before the deadline. But if you discover you
have an account problem deadline weekend, we will not be able to help.
