W.P.
Griffin Arena
The W.P.
Griffin Arena was completed in 1973. Most interscholastic sporting
events were moved from the old gymnasium to this new facility. With
a seating capacity of approximately 4,000, the arena is an exciting
place to attend a basketball game, wrestling match, volleyball game,
or other sporting event! The arena contains two women's locker rooms,
two men's locker rooms, the baseball locker room, and access to
the weight rooms. It is equipped with a four-sided scoreboard, recently
upgraded sound system, and court lighting designed especially for
television broadcast. The court also contains professionally designed
graphics. Also inside the gym is the school's athletic hall of fame,
containing trophies from conference, regional, and state championships;
retired jerseys; and plaques recognizing the accomplishments of
students, teams, and coaches over the years.
