Concord -- The Concord Spiders ended Asheville's playoff hopes for the second time in three years, this time 21-13 in the second round.
Asheville drew first blood with an 80-yard scoring drive in six plays, capped off with a 11-yard touchdown pass from Rahkeem Morgan to Rico Parks with 4:13 remaining in the first quarter. Concord immediately tied the score with a trick play on the kickoff return. In the second quarter, Concord capped off an eight-play 73 yard drive with a 6-yard touchdown run.
Asheville's final scoring drive came after a 54-yard punt return by Troyce McCants, followed by a 7-yard touchdown run and a missed extra point, bringing the score to 14-13 Concord. Concord's final scoring drive followed seven plays later, where a 44-yard completion from Dee Bost to Jimmy Drye was followed by a 1 yard touchdown run. Asheville was held to 38 total yards in the second half.
