WOW! Saturday’s game was a thriller with both Asheville and E. Chapel Hill held scoreless in regulation play. Mallory Silver converted a pass from Rachel Nash to win the game 1-0. A great game had a superior ending. Hats off to the entire team for their wonderful efforts!
The next home game will be Tuesday, October 9 against Mount Tabor, the only team we have not played this season. Please note that Tuesday, October 16 will be Senior Night. Bring your hankies as we watch this fine group of Seniors play their last regular season home game.

In today’s game we face West Forsyth. We are halfway through a very successful season with an 11-1 record in season play. Cougars, keep up the good work! On September 20 against the Freedom Patriots, Kelly Olesiuk, with an assist from Elizabeth Keil, scored with 4:39 left on the clock in the first quarter. Scoring began early in the second half with Mallory Silver scoring at 27:42 with an assist from Kelly Olesiuk. Tracey Barrett scored at 25:54 with an assist from Caity Heath. Kelly scored again at 24:42. Catherine Looper scored at 23:20 assisted by Kelly Olesiuk. The final goal came from Acacia Carman-Hauri at 17:28 with an assist from Elizabeth Gaston. The final score was 6-0. Yesterday’s game against the Spartanburg Day School Griffins got off to a slow start on a slow field. Elizabeth Gaston scored in the late part of the first half with an assist from Kelly Olesiuk. Elizabeth Gaston and Catherine Looper scored about ten minutes into the second half (two people/one point!). Elizabeth Keil scored the next two points with one assist from Elizabeth Gaston and another assist from Caity Heath. Leah Downey ended the game with a successful flick. The Cougars ended with a score of 5-0. Our next home game will be Saturday, September 29 against East Chapel Hill at 2:30 p.m.

In today’s game we face Asheville School. In the Tuesday home game against the Christ Church School Cavaliers, Elizabeth Keil made the first goal in the eleventh minute of the game. The Cougars were scoreless until the last nine minutes when Elizabeth Keil scored three more goals, followed by a goal from Elizabeth Gaston.
The Thursday game at West Forsyth saw a scoreless first half. Elizabeth Keil scored in the first five minutes of the second half with a dive into the goal (along with many other team members!). Sarah Scanzoni scored midway through the second half. West Forsyth quickly answered with a goal. Kelly Olesiuk sealed the win, scoring our third goal in the last five minutes of the game.
The Cougars are now 6-1. In the past two games, our offense has been unstoppable in the last ten minutes of play! The Monday game at Patton was cancelled as this new school lacks goals. After traveling to Winston-Salem on Wednesday, our next home game will be Thursday, September 20 against Freedom.

In today’s game we face Christ Church School. The Cougars have been successful in the past two away games. The Cougars dominated Thursday’s game against newcomer school, Reagan. Leah Downey scored with less thanthree minutes left in t he first half. Kelly Olesiuk and Elizabeth Keil sealed the victory by each scoring in the first ten minutes of the second half. Our Monday game was at Carolina Day. Kelly Olesiuk scored in the first five minutes. The Cougars held their ground, winning 1-0. Kudos to our defense for three straight shutouts! Our next home game will be Tuesday, September 18, when we play Asheville School.
