Soccer Asheville, NC - October 6, 2004 - Asheville's Nathan Ellis scored near the end of regulation to avoid a Cougar loss as they battled arch rival and #4 ranked T.C. Roberson to a 1-1 tie at Asheville High Memorial Stadium.  The #3 ranked Cougars should win the remainder of their games and clinch the MAC Conference title.  The Cougar Sports Network cameras were there to record the event for tape-delay broadcast.  Check the "On Air" section for broadcast details.

Soccer Scott Szymanski and Haskins Howerton scored o­ne goal each as the #8 Cougars (4-1, 2-0) defeated the #1 ranked Roberson Rams (5-1-1, 1-1) by a score of 2-1 o­n the Rams' home field September 3rd.  The physical game sets up a re-match between these two perennial powers at Asheville High Memorial Stadium o­n October 6th.

After winning the MAC Conference championship, the Asheville High Lady Cougar Soccer team fell short in its quest for a State Championship, losing to rival T.C. Roberson 3-0 in the third round of the NCHSAA playoffs o­n May 19th.  The Lady Cougars finished the season at 20-4-2, with a #7 ranking in NC.  The game was taped for delayed broadcast by the Cougar Sports Network and will be shown nightly at 8:30 p.m. through May 25th.  Congratulations, Lady Cougars,on an outstanding season!  (Photo Credit: Asheville Citizen-Times)
