Asheville ended their season in the NCHSAA Western Region Final, as runner-ups to the South Point Red Raiders from Belmont, NC. With a 13-1 record and ranked #1, they were defeated by the #2 seed at home in blizzard-like conditions with a final score of 57-10. The Cougar Sports Network televised eight of the team's games this season. Videotape copies of past games are available.

Charlie Choo-Choo Justice, a North Carolina and Asheville Football Legend, died recently at the age of 79.

Justice played for the Lee Edwards High School (Now Asheville High School) Maroon Devils, the North Carolina Tar Heels, and the Washington Redskins.
