Men's Sports
Soccer: MAC Runner-up, State Playoffs
Football: MAC Champion, 3A State Semifinalist
Golf: MAC Champion
Swimming: MAC Runner-up
Tennis: MAC Champion
Track and Field:  Third in State

Women's Sports
Basketball: State 3A Champion, 2 years in a row!
Soccer: MAC Champion, Top 10 in the State

AthleticNews The Asheville High Booster Club sponsored a special tribute to honor Athletic Director Lou Fogle, who will retire at the end of the 2003-2004 school year.  Fogle is completing his 18th year at Asheville High.  As Cougar Head Football coach for 14 seasons, Coach Fogle never had a losing season, compiling a record 115 wins and only 44 losses. The Cougars won six conference Championships and advanced to the 3A State Championship Game in 1999.

ASHEVILLE - Bruce Peterson has been able to touch the lives of many people in Western North Carolina because of athletics. First, as a four-sport star at Lee Edwards High School in the 1950s and later as a coach and athletic director at Asheville High, Peterson earned a reputation as an athlete and coach who was admired for his accomplishments o­n and off the field.

AthleticNews AHS Athletic Director and former football coach Lou Fogle is stepping down for retirement at the end of the year. Former wrestling coach Rex Wells has recently been named as Fogle's replacement as the new Athletic Director.
