Charles Thomas, a 25-year-old former Asheville High Baseball Standout, recently joined the Atlanta Braves from Triple-A Richmond. Thomas is replacing outfielder Dewayne Wise, who has been placed o­n the disabled list with a sore elbow.Thomas' first hit in an MLB game came in the seventh inning o­n Thursday, June 24 in Miami.  It was his second major league at-bat. ASHEVILLE - Asheville native Charles Thomas made his major league debut with the Atlanta Braves Wednesday for their game against the Florida Marlins.  Thomas, 25, who was leading the International League in hitting, played at Asheville High and Western Carolina University. He is the second Asheville High player and sixth WCU player to reach the major leagues.
