Reynolds Community - August 26, 2005 -  Asheville High helped Reynolds christen their new synthetic turf field but had to come from behind to win as Johnny White scored o­n a 5-yard run with 3:24 remaining to squeak by the Rockets 13-9.  White rushed for 121 yards in a turnover-filled game that also saw several players temporarily sidelined with leg cramps. Crezdon Butler added 84 yards rushing and Neville Hayes kicked field goals from 23 and 25 yards to tie the game at halftime.  Hayes also kicked a booming punt at a key time in the game after the snap sailed over his head.  Both team's defenses played well, with Kadeem Morgan  and Logan Livingstain leading the way for the Cougars with 7.5 tackles each, but neither coach could be happy with the penalties and turnovers.  However, Asheville stepped up and made the plays it took to win.  It wasn't a pretty win, but we are very proud of the Cougars!  The Cougars are off next week and will hopefully have time to work out all the kinks before traveling to 4A East Burke o­n September 9th.  Click here for game photos (copyright Jim Kransberger of www.southeastsportsphotos.com).

The guide has been prepared to assist members of the working media in covering Asheville High Sports. The guide is downloadable in MS Word Format and contains a roster, past statistics, broadcast and site information, and other items. To supplement the guide, visiting rosters, updated statistics, and other materials may be available o­n site in a gameday packet at home games and selected away games. As the 2005 Season approaches, the Cougar Sports Network web team is making some changes to this site. We have already upgraded our photo gallery system and feature updated photos of our artificial turf construction. Check it out!

We are also experimenting with adding video clips to this site. Click o­n "Video Clips" at the left to find the 2004 Asheville vs. Tuscola Playoff Game in its entirety, in Windows Media format.

Also Check out the "Spirit and Traditions" link. We are in the process of scanning old Fall Sports programs which we have dating back to 1985. Experience some nostalgia by reading these pieces of school history!
