Football : SportsRadio 1310 Big WISE Announces Play-by-Play Team for Asheville Cougars Football Broadcasts
Asheville, NC – August 24, 2004: SportsRadio 1310 Big WISE has announced its broadcast team for its upcoming coverage of Asheville High School football games. Beginning this Friday night (8/27/04) with the Cougars season opener, Scot Powell will handle the play-by-play call of the games and Pat Ryan will cover the color commentary duties of the broadcasts heard live on SportsRadio 1310 Big WISE.

Randy Cable, VP/GM of WISE 1310 AM, has announced that "Big WISE" will cover all Asheville High football games for the 2004 season. A pregame show, full game play-by-play and analysis, halftime scores/stats/updates, and a complete postgame show will be featured all season long. This is the first time the Cougars have had their own full-time radio coverage since the legendary Zeb Lee followed Asheville from 1947-1994 on WSKY.

Charles Thomas, former Asheville High multi-sport athlete, continues to perform well for the Atlanta Braves. (Follow link http://atlanta.braves.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/team/player.jsp?player_id=433595 for current stats.) We visited Atlanta for a game July 17th and were able to speak with Thomas. He was all smiles as he said "I'm living my dream." Not only is he a fine athlete, Thomas is a real gentlemen and a true role model. We continue to wish him well and are now following the Braves on TV every day!
