The Cougars (22-2-2), State Champs in 2000, will face White Oak (14-6-1) at the SAS Soccer Center in Cary at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, November 20th. Asheville, NC - November 13, 2004 - Drew "Scooby" Meadows of the Asheville Cougars (21-2-2) scored in the second overtime to help defeat the two-time defending 3A State Champion Roberson Rams (21-3-3) by a score of 1-0. Congratulations to the Cougars and Coach Mike Flowe on a total team effort! The well-attended rivalry matchup was captured by the cameras of the Cougar Sports Network and will air nightly this week at 8:00 p.m. with a special Sunday Matinee at 2:00 p.m. Tune in and see two celebrities (in addition to announcers Bob Somerville and Patrick Gladys): Charles Thomas of the Atlanta Braves, a former AHS three-sport athlete, was a special guest for the broadcast, as was professional soccer player and former Roberson star David Testo. The top-ranked Cougars will play Parkwood High (19-3-4) at home for the Western Regional Championship on November 17. GAME TIME IS 6:00 P.M. Asheville, NC - November 5, 2004 - Crezdon Butler ran for three touchdowns and passed for another as the Asheville Courgars overcame an early 14-point deficit to down the Erwin Warriors 52-14 on Parent's Night. It was the regular season finale for the Cougars, who will host a 3A playoff contest next week. Asheville finished second in the MAC conference and sports a 23-1 conference record over the last three years.

Burlington, NC - October 29, 2004 - Asheville High sophomore Alexa Ely won the 3-A singles tennis championship over Hickory's Emily Mauser. After dropping her first set 6-2 to Mauser, Ely rebounded to win the next two sets, 6-4 and 6-0 at the Burlington Tennis Center. Ely and Mauser will likely have a rematch Tuesday when the Cougars (20-0) travel to Hickory for the third round of the 3-A dual team playoffs. Congratulations to Alexa Ely!!
