Asheville, NC - November 5, 2004 - Crezdon Butler ran for three touchdowns and passed for another as the Asheville Courgars overcame an early 14-point deficit to down the Erwin Warriors 52-14 on Parent's Night. It was the regular season finale for the Cougars, who will host a 3A playoff contest next week. Asheville finished second in the MAC conference and sports a 23-1 conference record over the last three years.
Trailing Erwin 14-0 after the first quarter, the Cougars (9-1,7-1) responded with 21-second quarter points to take the lead for good, and finished with 52 uanswered points. Butler rushed for 135 yards and scored on runs of 11, 25 and 5 yards. Other Asheville scoring came from Johnny White (40 yd. run), Thaddeus Boyce (14 yd. run), Roger Reid (28 yd. pass reception), Derelle McMorris (45 yd. interception), Neville Hayes (6 extra points), and Haskins Howerton ( 1 PAT).
