Asheville, NC - September 16, 2004 - Asheville defeated Franklin 17-0 to go 2-0 in the MAC conference in a game played o­n Thursday due to Hurricane Ivan.  The game was ended at halftime and counts as a complete game due to mutual consent of the teams.  Both teams played well, considering the driving sheets of wind and rain, and a lightening delay.  Asheville QB Crezdon Butler ran 49 yards for a score, FB Thaddeus Boyce sprinted 93 yards up the middle for a TD, and Neville Hayes booted a 42 yard field goal against the wind to finish up the scoring for the Cougars. Asheville has won 18 consecutive MAC Conference games.
