Asheville, NC – August 24, 2004:  SportsRadio 1310 Big WISE has announced its broadcast team for its upcoming coverage of Asheville High School football games.  Beginning this Friday night (8/27/04) with the Cougars season opener, Scot Powell will handle the play-by-play call of the games and Pat Ryan will cover the color commentary duties of the broadcasts heard live o­n SportsRadio 1310 Big WISE. 

Powell has been a member of the Cougar Broadcast team since 2002, serving as the school’s basketball play-by-play voice o­n the Cougar Sports TV Network.  He has also been a sports reporter for WLOS-TV in Asheville.

Ryan, currently a full-time personality o­n 96.5 WOXL, has previously co-hosted “SportsTalk Saturday”, a former popular sports call-in show.  He has also worked as a color commentator for Brevard High School football and Pisgah High School basketball.

Steve Marcus, WOXL/WISE Operations Manager and Executive Producer of the Big WISE Cougar Sports Radio Network, commented:  “We’re looking forward to an exciting inaugural season of Cougars football o­n SportsRadio 1310 Big WISE.  Scot and Pat will bring years of behind-the-microphone experience and an enormous amount of local knowledge and insight to the game broadcasts.”

As announced in July, SportsRadio 1310 Big WISE will broadcast each Asheville Cougars football game this season.  The weekly broadcasts begin with the Big WISE Pre-game show each Friday evening at 7:05pm, followed by the game kickoffs, scheduled for 7:30pm.  Each game broadcast will also feature a Half-time program and Post-game show.
