Reynolds Community - August 26, 2005 - Asheville High helped Reynolds christen their new synthetic turf field but had to come from behind to win as
Johnny White scored on a 5-yard run with 3:24 remaining to squeak by the Rockets 13-9. White rushed for 121 yards in a turnover-filled game that also saw several players temporarily sidelined with leg cramps.
Crezdon Butler added 84 yards rushing and
Neville Hayes kicked field goals from 23 and 25 yards to tie the game at halftime. Hayes also kicked a booming punt at a key time in the game after the snap sailed over his head. Both team's defenses played well, with
Kadeem Morgan and
Logan Livingstain leading the way for the Cougars with 7.5 tackles each, but neither coach could be happy with the penalties and turnovers.

However, Asheville stepped up and made the plays it took to win. It wasn't a pretty win, but we are very proud of the Cougars! The Cougars are off next week and will hopefully have time to work out all the kinks before traveling to 4A East Burke on September 9th. Click
