The Asheville High Lady Cougars defeated the Smoky Mountain Mustangs at home in the first round of the NCHSAA playoffs 72-38. Four Cougar players reached double digits in scoring: #32 Rashanda McCants dominated with 30 points, #55 Danielle Burgin had 12 points, #23 Lauren Powell had 11, and #11 Kirbie Guillebeaux had 10. For the Mustangs, #23 Cetera Degrafenreid had 18 points. The next game for the Lady Cougars will be against the North Buncombe Blackhawks at home on Friday, February 27, weather permitting.
